WALNUT HALWA

The appearance of the walnut (halves), looks like that of a human brain. Walnuts are loaded with omega-3s, which make them, "The Ultimate Brain food." The human brain is made up of about 60% of what is called "structural fat" and needs high-quality fats like omega-3s to function properly by keeping the brain, fluid and flexible.


Rich in polyunsaturated fats and the only nut source of plant-based omega-3 fatty acids, an ounze of walnuts are a Star food for Cardiovascular health.


Walnuts....reduces the sleepless nights, a pre-bedtime snack of walnuts would help you get some shuteye.





WALNUT HALWA




Walnut crumps = 2 cups

Almond crumps  = 1/2 cup

Sugar = 2 and 1/2 cups

Milk = 2 and 1/2 cups

Ghee = 100 gms

Nutmeg powder = a pinch

Cardamom powder = 1/2 tsp

Bread Crumps = 5 cups ( I used 9 wheat breads)





Method:-

Grease a plate with ghee and set aside.

Heat a non-stick kadai. Dry Roast the bread crumps in a medium heat for 4 mins or till the crumps gets roasted.

Now, add the sugar and mix well, till the bread crumps are caramalised with the sugar. The mixture turns to shiny-golden colour.

Add the milk, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and stir continously, till the mixture turns to a dough.

Add the ghee and stir continously till it leaves the sides of the vessel. Add the walnut and Almond crumps finally and mix well for 2 minutes...

Transfer it the greased plate.

Delicious Walnut halwa is ready...
